Katagu Lutheran Teachers College (KLTC) is a Christ-centered institution located in the beautiful Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea. Established to train competent and morally upright teachers, KLTC blends academic excellence with spiritual growth to shape educators who will inspire and transform communities.

Location

Katagu Lutheran Teachers College is located in Lower Benna Rural LLG, Unggai-Bena District, Eastern Highlands Province. The campus occupies the former Interface New Tribe Mission property, just 20 minutes from Goroka Town. With a spacious 11-hectare site, the college offers a peaceful and inspiring environment for learning and reflection.

Academic Programs

KLTC currently offers the following academic programs:

• Diploma in Primary Teaching (3 years): Based on Papua New Guinea’s Standard-Based Curriculum.
• Bachelor of Education in Primary (4 years): Combines theoretical instruction with practical classroom experience.

All programs include spiritual development, community outreach, and field-based teaching experience to ensure graduates are well-rounded educators.

Faith & Learning Environment

KLTC integrates spiritual growth with academic excellence. Students participate in chapel services, Bible study groups, and mission outreach programs. This faith-based approach builds both knowledge and Christian character.

Partnerships & Accreditation

KLTC works closely with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea and the National Department of Education. The college is progressing toward full accreditation under the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (DHERST).
